About MeIn 1986, I took a Photography Summer course at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (I was still in High School). That was it; I fell in love with photography, and have been serious about it since then. In 1992 I graduated from Mt. Allison University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography and Painting.
From university, I returned to England where I lived, worked and studied for 6 years. I earned my Secondary Art Teachers Certificate and taught Art in inner city schools before moving to Botswana to teach Art in the school system there. After 6 years in Botswana, I returned to Nova Scotia. I started CSPStudio to use my photographic skills to help support my family, and let me stay at home with my son. What better way to be with someone you love, than doing something you love?
About the PhotographyAny style of image is possible, from group shots to sleeping babies, parents with newborns to portraits of a child with a favourite toy. Individual portraits, glamour or head shots, pet portraits, all are possible. Indoors or out, all situations (within reason!) are possible. If you don't see a style mentioned that you are interested in, ask!
Black and white, selective colour, and full colour images are all available, in a wide range of sizes.
As I have a child, and have been a teacher for eight years, I work well with children, and know how to make them comfortable in front of the camera. I am happy to find the space where the child is relaxed and shoot the portrait there, rather than force a child into a situation where they are not happy. A happy child makes a beautiful picture.
I strive to make the photo shoot an enjoyable experience; to bring out the best in all those I photograph.
